THE KOOKS!!

THE KOOKS will be here on 1st May!! Here's the scoop:

To celebrate a decade together as a band, The Kooks have announced their ‘Best Of’ UK Tour to take place in 2017. The run of seventeen headline shows will kick off on 21 April in Manchester, before visiting cities such as Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow, Nottingham and Bristol, and will conclude with a huge show at London’s Alexandra Palace on 13 May.

Since they burst onto the scene in 2006 with their unstoppable debut Inside In/Inside Out, which went 5x platinum last month, the Brighton based four-piece have gone from strength to strength.

Now, with three more studio albums, a number of massive world tours, awards and critical acclaim under their belts, it was clear that the indie rockers’ ten-year anniversary is a significant occasion to celebrate their momentous career so far with a tour of all of their greatest hits. Fans will be given the chance to see performances of classic hits, B-Sides as well as brand new music that the band have been dedicating time to in the studio this year.

Bear's Den!

Bear’s Den today reveal Dew On The Vine, the new single to be taken from their Top 10 album, Red Earth & Pouring Rain.

The group are shortly to embark on their biggest UK tour to date, with sold out shows including Brixton Academy on 8th November, and today announce a new European tour for spring 2017, culminating in their recently announced show at Hammersmith Eventim Apollo on 5th April. Tickets for the new spring dates go on sale this week.

The video for Dew On The Vine, also released today, was directed by Louis Bhose and features band and crew in a Fight Club-inspired ping pong tournament that may or may not be representative of their real-life life on the road.

Red Earth & Pouring Rain is the follow up to Bear’s Den’s Ivor Novello-nominated 2014 debut, Islands, and sees a group taking huge leaps forward to become another great success story of a British band breaking through. Their 2014 debut, Islands, had been a true slow burning success over an 18 month period, with the band building a huge fanbase through consistently stellar live shows and huge airplay for the singles, Agape, and the Ivor Novello-nominated Above The Clouds of Pompeii.

As well as its UK success, Red Earth & Pouring Rain is off to a flying start internationally, with Top 10 chartings in Holland (#5) and Belgium (#9) as well as a Top 30 debut in Germany (#26). The band’s recent US headline tour also sold out in its entirety.

"There is something universally accessible and bonding in these sweeping, hope-fuelled anthems” - The Independent

“Spellbinding loveliness. Together the duo are a gliding iceberg, the perfect balm for tricky times." - **** The Evening Standard

Stadium-ready London duo Bear’s Den provide a slice of brilliant Americana with Red Earth & Pouring Rain” - **** The Sun

"Bear’s Den sound like genuine innovators… an admirably ambitious album” The Line of Best Fit

AMBER RUN RETURN!

Notts graduates Amber Run today announce their return, with a new tour, new album and new single!! Here's the scoop:

Today marks the return of Amber Run, who come back flexing their muscles with brand new song “Stranger”. The UK four-piece are also readying to release their sophomore album, For A Moment, I Was Lost, a 12-track chronicle of their interval between the last, packed with moments of expansive beauty & full-blooded raw emotion. They’re also announcing a February tour to coincide with the album’s launch.

"Stranger is about being hopeful” explains the band, continuing “about realising that sometimes you don’t get what you need but you’ll keep moving on regardless. At it’s root, Stranger is about how it’s worth suffering for your art. It's about reconnecting with the thing you love most and remembering that nothing that's worth having comes easy.”

Speaking about the album the band had to say “We have always believed in evolution as a band. Not reinvention so much as taking what's already there and making it better. As students in Nottingham, we would sit and say “we’ll be the band we want to be by the 4th album”. Somewhere along the way, we forgot that evolution takes time. We forgot that any new experience has a learning curve.

“The new album trims the fat from our previous music, and get down to the bare bones of the songs. We’re songwriters, and where 5AM was a collection of songs written in our youth, these new songs are, for us, a timely response to more recent experiences."

Also on the album is track “Haze”, which doubles as a free download for pre-ordering the record early.
