Capdown – ‘Keeping Up Appearances’

Is it just me or this is single title a tongue in cheek comment on Capdown’s current status? Capdown are a band who seem to always be around somewhere but obviously feel you might need a little reminder and it comes in the form of this vitriolic but instantaneous track. The guitar is classic Capdown while Jake’s saxophone should be unfashionable in today’s indie-clad scene and yet it couldn’t be cooler. All in all it breaks no boundaries but wouldn’t we all be a bit worried if Capdown came out with a concept album of psychedelic electronica? They’re still the best example of British ska-punk and have the track record to prove it.
