It has been a busy year for the UK’s leading music college, the Brighton Institute of Modern Music (BIMM Brighton) with the opening of a brand new college – the Bristol Institute of Modern Music in September and setting up some amazing musician scholarships with The Stranglers, Funeral For A Friend and Bullet For My Valentine, to now, gearing up for the no-holds barred Highway To Hell Metal Summer School 2008!

BIMM are making sure that the 2008 schools will be the biggest and most impressive ever with an awesome line up of guests, tutors and backline. Last year’s schools covered ten days, three cities, 66 guitarists, 42 drummers, 13 vocalists and five bassists.

DJs from the Radio One Rock Show and Kerrang Radio will explaining how to get your songs on the radio and Total Guitar Magazine will be searching for new talent.

Star Tutors and Special Guests lined up for 2008 include members and musicians from: Kate Nash, Ordinary Boys, Rooster, ex Prodigy, China Style, McQueen, Oceansize, Arty Karate, The Ghost Of A Thousand, Lady Sovereign, Mel C, Gene, Malakai, Beverley Knight, Asia, Skunk Anansie, Feeder, Reef, Sleeper, Biomechanical, Hundred Reasons, Sikth, Therapy, Pitchshifter, This is Menace, Floors And Walls, Killing Joke, Dan Carter (A/ Lucky Nine/ Hexes and the Radio One Rock Show), Loz (Kerrang Radio), Total Guitar Magazine, Guitarist Magazine, Rhythm Magazine and more.*

The summer schools give players the opportunity to improve technique and styles while rubbing shoulders with the stars. Players study technical development and live performance skills using industry standard equipment, both modern and vintage, under the guidance of the biggest names in music.

Between them, the college tutors and guests have sold hundreds of thousands of albums signed to major and independent record labels, had chart hits, toured the world at stadium level (including Australia, Japan, USA), played main stage at Download, Glastonbury, Reading, Vans Warped Tour and Ozzfest, recorded dozens of Radio One sessions as well as having their music in films, on television and in video games.
