The Corrections – Repeat After Me

This is an album of safe pop music. It’s bouncy well crafted, but it lacks heart and soul. The singer sounds like he is simply going through the motions! It seems that the tracks have been created with the soul purpose of denting radio ones playlist. The single ‘OCD’ is pedestrian, sounding like a slightly less enthusiastic version of ‘The Hoosiers’! There are moments of promise, ‘Barcode’ has an 80’s pop feel and ‘Full Stop’ is the blue print of an anthem, so there’s some promise. Whether they get the chance to hone their craft is doubtful, as it’s unlikely that this will sell the number of copies needed to satisfy the big wigs at EMI. Their best hope is getting the music on an advert; it’s selling out, but then they’ve already done that from the sound of the music!
