Lights. Action! – All Eyes To The Morning Sun

A six track mini album that could easily be tagged and filed under either ‘indie’, ‘alternative,’ or ‘guitar music’; except that this is anything but ‘alternative’ in fact tracks such as ‘Story of a Broken Boy’ sounds like it could be a come back single from a band such as ‘Feeder.’ This is the problem here; the band seem content with mediocrity instead of pushing boundaries and expectation with their music; don’t get me wrong, this isn’t bad, the songs are riddled with hooks and ‘Satellites’ has big sing-a-long epic moments to it, but it lacks the ‘umph!’ that makes it stand out from the crowd! At times the tracks could have been borrowed from the latter day incarnation of ‘Marillion’ whilst the cover of Imogen Heap’s ‘Hide and Seek’ is irrelevant and pointless; which basically sums up this mini album!
