‘Another Day’ is a pleasing fuse of 60’s soul and funk which opens up this album from the hotly tipped artist! It’s the song that sets the tone for what is to follow; an easily accessible album that is happy to embrace its Motown influences; so you can imagine Sam Cooke and Marvin Gaye standing in the shadows, clicking their fingers to help keep time and provide the rhythm.

‘Figured Me Out’ has more of a Michael Jackson influence although its possibly one of the few misfires here, as the back ground beats and sound effects have a more modern feel and they influence the track, which has more of a Jamiroquai feel about it. The balance is quickly restored with the injected urgency of ‘Hurricane’

Even with the weaker track, the album still gels; with the perfect balance of slower heartfelt ballads alongside the more up beat clap along tunes.

The old school funk of tracks like ‘Little Bit Of Feel Good’ make for uplifting tunes that would set the dance floor alight when put alongside the current dirge. It’s as though we suddenly have discovered our very own modern day English version of ‘Prince.’
