Elliot Minor – Elliot Minor

Gets off to a good start, Time After Time pretty well sets the scene to Elliot Minor. Great sounding vocals that really work well together with everything else that’s going on here. Throughout the record they use allsorts of instruments that carry the songs adding whole new dimensions that put Elliot Minor on a different level to anything I’ve ever heard before. Parallel Worlds manages to kick you in teeth. A different approach here everything’s thrown into this metal/classical melting pot with outstanding results. Things take a positive turn with The Liar Is You and Lucky Star. Both great ballads followed by the high impact energetic Jessica. Elliot Minor seems to take on a life of its own with this overall effect of a huge pop/metal opera. There’s just so much going on they’re verging on musical brilliance! They even throw in a few musical breaks that tie in well further strengthening the album as a whole. Silently sounds big, is incredibly moving and has much depth. One of my favourites on this album Running Away is fantastically modern, a great pop song with every potential. Comes to a great conclusion with Last Call To New York City, Elliot Minor has class and distinction able to appeal to a number of different audiences.

9/10
