CRYSTAL CASTLES – Courtship Dating

And so we have yet another band who seem to have escaped the clutches of last year’s so-called “New Rave” phenomenon with their credibility and creativity firmly intact.

Striving to bridge the gap between what is traditionally known as noise-rock and dance floor integrity, Crystal Castles do it better than most – if not all – of their contemporaries purely by way of the fact that Alice Glass’ piercing shrieks combined with Ethan Kath’s gameboy-infused squelches and synthesised beats make them one of the most genuinely original acts on the planet right now.

Live favourite ‘Courtship Dating’ may not be quite as brutal or intense as early release ‘Alice Practice’, but it still sounds undeniably fresh and should guarantee the duo their first real crack at the hit parade.

Now imagine what your folks will say while eating their Sunday roast with this blurring out the radio? Exactly, which is more than a good enough reason why should go buy it.
