This is all very confusing, the former frontman of Hefner, Darren Hayman, singing American Bluegrass in an English accent. The song’s called ‘Sly and the Family Stone’ yet has nothing to do with the band of the same name. Very confusing! Although we’ll forgive them for delivering a lush record full of plucked strings about male insecurity having no money and being a kept man! Although not what I’d want to listen to all the time, this is perfectly pleasant in short bursts!
