This is the theme tune to the TV series, Wallinger, which stars Kenneth Branagh as a Scandinavian policeman. As you’d expect it’s sparse strings, and it has quite a ‘cold’ and lonely feel to it, but there’s an intelligence to the music. This is the perfect soundtrack for a genius loner policeman who has a dark secret from a past he doesn’t want to talk about and so he hides his inner pain and demons by drinking vodka late at night whilst rueing the past! (I’m guessing having never seen the show – but musically it fits!)
