Trail – To the Rest Of the World

This lot are a fresh faced British band with big American production. Chorused arpeggiated guitars mix with sweeping chorus's and fast rhythms, such that there is a bit of mid period U2 about them, Just listen to the opener Prism. Generally they seem to fall into the alternative, slightly college radio style beloved in America, Flare is very much Jimmy Eat World style emo and Forever Young has a hint of Throwing Copper era Live. For me ditching a lot of the rubbish that passes for British alternative music has helped them no end; they deserve to get their recognition and have their time out in the sun. This is a polished, mature and strong debut.

8/10
