Abadden – Sentenced to Death

Abadden are a UK based metal band, this is their first album and is released on Rising Records. Sentenced to Death starts as pure Thrash Metal; it serves up a dose of Slayer crossed with Anthrax with a hint of Megadeth as seasoning. The vocal delivery is more black metal, but don't let that detract from what is a polished, powerful opener. The playing is tight as a gnat's ass, the bass pounds and the solos whirl you into submission. After that stormer of an opener comes My Misery, the formula is the same, but then the old adage if it ain't broke, don't fix it couldn't apply more. Violent Assault is just that, it is fast, aggressive, angry metal that could have come out of the late 80s thrash scene. The Hand That Feeds is the first to change the mood, an clean picked opening guitar with heavy distortion played over the top, this album's Seasons In The Abyss. There are 8 tracks on this album, and in terms of length it is very much Reign in Blood.

Great stuff from a British Thrash Metal band who look set to take on the big boys. They have the chops, the talent and the songs. Get this now.

9/10
