Codejak – Hell Yeah EP
Posted by AlMachine on Monday, January 25, 2010
Down and dirty, pulsating garage rock with a rhythm that drives itself deep into your heart! If The King’s of Leon played their southern swamp rock whilst on speed it would sound something like ‘Hell Yeah’. If anything it will also be this passing resemblance that acts as a hindrance, as Codejak feel like a band living in the shadows. ‘Pull out your Knife’ has a straightforward garage vibe to it and is nothing out of the ordinary. But it’s the stripped back ‘Little Boy’ laced with very dark and bitter vocals about abduction, that stands out; it’s also something of a gem, sharing common ground with (sadly) long forgotten bands like JJ72 or Terris.
