Citadels – The Chemical Song

This is rather good, it’s a mix of ‘Arcade Fire’, ‘The Flaming Lips’ and ‘The Polyphonic Spree’. It has a rather trippy, slightly experimental quality combined with a big sing-a-long chorus. This should be massive; it takes the current electro sound and makes it feel relevant to now with a big dramatic delivery. The major plus for the band, and what will ultimately give them longevity, is that they don’t appear to be simply jumping on the electro band wagon – they seem to want to push boundaries! B-side ‘You Make It All Burn Down’ is evidence that Citadels will be a band that will make their mark this year!
