Enya – The Very Best of
Posted by AlMachine on Monday, January 25, 2010
For those who don't know much about her, Enya first found recognition as keyboard player and backing vocalist with her brothers and sisters as part of Clannad in the early 1980s. To a generation, Enya is more well known for her mega hit Orinico Flow, which mixed Celtic influenced vocals with classical stylings and sent everyone new age music crazy. Along the way she has sold millions of records and been featured on various soundtracks, The Lord of The Rings and Far and Away two notable highlights. This albums contains selections from throughout her career and includes the top 10 hit Anywhere Is. Bookending the album is the haunting May it Be, from the Fellowship of the Ring, which shows off her talent for creating and delivering atmospheric moving passages of music.
This is a great antidote to the factory line of dance and general chart rubbish. This is real talent, and Enya's success is well deserved. If you need something to relax, to wind down, or to help contemplate life, this is the one for you.
9/10
