Mia Hope – We Are Just Satellites

British hardcore screamo band who cite ‘Dilinger Escape Plan’ and ‘Black Flag’ as influences. This is frenzied music that at times is so frantic that it makes you think of Bill & Ted’s ‘Wild Stallions’ it has to be said that some of the guitar work is truly dazzling!

This is certainly ferocious music, and the band’s demonised vocals and rib shattering riffs, will shake you to the core, and you’ll feel each internal organ melting under the ferocious musical assault of tracks such as ‘Last Stand Of The Unicorns’ or ‘Eating Out Of Pandora’s Box’! The songs are undoubtedly well crafted and it’s the slower moments that give the album texture and make it stand out from the pack.

It’s fair to say that this is definitely an acquired taste, and generally I’d advise you not to purchase it for your granny, but if it is your cup of tea and if you’re looking for abrasive rock that’s going to give you a headfuck then you should look no further than Mia Hope!
