THE LOVEGODS - Live At Rock City
Posted by AlMachine on Friday, January 30, 2004
As a rule I try to avoid going to see unsigned bands, due to the fact that 99.9 percent of them are completely useless and wont make it- bands such as The Henry Roads (boring unsigned band) prove my point about being a waste of time.
However once in a while you do come across a gleaming jewel amongst the rubble of trash that is out there, and thankfully The Lovegods are one of these gleaming jewels. They have everything it takes to become adored by the masses- charisma, sex appeal, humour, and lets not forget the main ingredient- talent.
From the moment that the lead singer (Deah) steps onto the stage, she seems to capture the entire audiences attention, whilst the guitarist (Art) dazzled the crowd with his impressive style of what seems to be a hybrid of blues, rock, pop guitar parts.
Admittedly I am still learning the names of the songs, but one song that particularly stands out is ‘Such A Star’ it is full of irony about how great it is to be famous through shows like pop idol and fame academy.
The Lovegods stand out because they are refreshingly different from all the other bands that are out there, their sound is unique, and visually they are great to watch. If they play in Nottingham again, you must go and take a peek as they are one of those bands that when you have seen them once, you will become instantly addicted.
