TERRORVISION- Rock City (Live)
Posted by claire on Wednesday, October 3, 2001
As soon as you entered Rock City, you could tell that tonight's show was going to be an unforgettable gig. The place was buzzing with excitement at the thought of Terrorvision arriving on stage. However the atmosphere was tarnished with just a little bit of sadness due to the fact that this is supposed to be Terrorvision`s last tour and this will be the last time that Terrorvision will play at Rock City.
After what seemed like an eternity, the trademark blue sirens came to life, indicating that the appearance of Terrorvision for the final time at Rock City was imminent. Terrorvision walked on stage to a thunderous, ear splitting, deafening roar of approval from the audience.
It was obvious that because this was Terrorvision`s last ever gig at Rock City, they were going to play all of their greatest hits. So that is exactly what they decided to do. You name it; they played it.
The crowd were certainly bouncing away to all of the classic tunes and as soon as Terrorvision lunged into ‘Pretend Best Friend’ the audience went into a wild frenzy. The audience then reacted explosively when ‘Celebrity Hit List’ was played.
After storming their way through all the classics like ‘American TV’, ‘D`Ya Wanna Go Faster’, and ‘Middleman’, Tony (Singer) introduced `Tequila` by saying “This is a song about a liquid that makes you do silly things”. At which point Tony brought a bottle of Tequila onto the stage and poured it into glasses for the band members to drink. The bottle was then passed into the audience for them to drink. Terrorvision then proceeded to play `Tequila`. They decided to bring the night to an end by playing ‘Alice, What’s The Matter’.
However there was no way that the audience was going to let them go home without doing ‘Oblivion’. Terrorvision returned to the stage and ploughed straight into ‘Oblivion’, which is probably one of the best songs to bounce up and down to. `Oblivion` always sends the crowd completely manic and tonight was certainly no exception. Terrorvision then waved goodbye to the crowd for the last time.
Terrorvision`s performance was exceptional and it seems to be such a shame that they have decided to call it a day, however at least they can say that they definitely went out with a bang, instead of just slipping into obscurity.
