SLAVES ANNOUNCE BIGGEST UK TOUR TO DATE

INCLUDES HEADLINE SHOW AT ALEXANDRA PALACE

Tickets on sale 10th August

Ahead of the release of their third album ‘Acts of Fear and Love’ Slaves have announced a UK-wide tour for this November, including a headline show at London’s legendary Alexandra Palace. Tickets are on sale on the 10th August, but fans will be able to gain access to a special presale by preordering the album here before 4pm on Tuesday the 7th August.

Already known as one of the UK’s most ferocious live acts, the band will be bringing their A-Game to this run of shows as they introduce their new material to the masses. Expect big riffs, bigger beats and the sense of beer-hurling mayhem that has followed the band from their earliest shows in Tunbridge Wells boozers to the main stages at major European and US festivals.

They won’t be alone either as they’ve handpicked a selection of some of the most exciting talent around for their support. Kentish punk raconteurs Lady Bird (the first signing to Slaves Girl Fight record label) will be opening the shows, while caustic Aussie pub punks Amyl and the Sniffers will be bringing their own distinct brand of riotous noise along for the ride. For Alexandra Palace they will also be joined by Slowthai, the Northampton born rapper currently setting the UK scene alight. ‘Acts of Fear and Love’, the band’s third album, reflects that fear and love may actually be the biggest motivators in the world at the moment. Following the release of their recent singles ‘Cut and Run’ and ‘Chokehold’, the album will be released through Virgin EMI/AMF Records on the 17th August. You can pre-order the album here.

THE AWARD WINNING BAND RELEASE THEIR NEW ALBUM, ‘TAKE CONTROL’ 30TH SEPTEMBER

On top of releasing their brand new album ‘Take Control’ on September 30th, Slaves will also be laying waste to venues across the country as they launch into a full UK tour in November.

The tour will take in all corners of the UK as the band stay true to their roots of bringing their gritty, primal take on rock music to the people, wherever they are. It’ll also include two nights at London’s legendary O2 Shepherds Bush Empire to complete what is set to be one of the must see live experiences of the year.

Slaves more than earned a reputation for themselves as one of the UK’s fiercest live acts with their constant touring and festival appearances off the back of their debut album, ‘Are you Satisfied?’

Isaac Holman (vocals, drums) and Laurie Vincent (guitar, vocals) have followed a spectacular 2015 by recording another hit album in waiting, at Jackson Browne’s studio in Santa Monica, California. ‘Take Control’, was produced by one of the legends of early hip hop and New York punk, Mike D who, says Laurie, “Became like another member of our band – we can safely call him our friend, which is just surreal!”

‘Take Control’ finds the young pair sharpening up their skills, both in songwriting and in execution andsounding heavier in places.Several tracks on the album were recorded on vintageequipment used by the Beastie Boys on their classic records, Including ‘STD’s PhD’s’, ‘Angelica’ and ‘Consume Or Be Consumed’.

Recorded back home in London, ‘Steer Clear’ was a collaboration with another hero, Baxter Dury, who lent his distinctive vocals to a duet with Isaac.

Slaves first emerged in 2012, working their way up through the local toilet-venue circuit to become one of the success stories of 2015. The band’s debut album ‘Are You Satisfied?’ smashed in to the UK top 10 and earned the band huge critical acclaim. Thanks to their charismatic mash-up of punky urgency and silly humour, they bagged Kerrang!’s Spirit Of Punk award and NME’s Best Video award (for ‘Cheer Up London’), while also securing nominations for the Mercury Music Prize, and for Best New Band at Q and NME.

Along the way, they’ve won the hearts of The Streets’ Mike Skinner, stolen the show on last year’s NME tour, had Skepta join them on stage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend and toured with Jamie T and Wolf Alice – the latter in America in March, after which Wolf Alice’s drummer Joel Amey bunked off to California to play on new track ‘People That You Meet’.

Buzzing from their success, Isaac and Laurie weren’t content to sit back and lap it all up. “If you stop making music, you stop being relevant,” reasons Laurie, “so we just cracked on”. Kicking off with ‘Spit It Out’, which Isaac describes as a “hard-rock banger”, ‘Take Control’ will be released on 30 September.
