The Stranglers are an english punk band that have been active since 1974. In this expansive career they have defied the odds and critics and punters alike by being continuously successful. They now have had 23 UK top 40 hits and 17 UK top 40 albums! They are returning to Rock City in March as part of their 2012 European tour.

They are most renowned for their big hits 'Golden Brown', 'No More Heroes' & 'Peaches'. The latter two becoming instant punk classics when first released in 1977. Golden Brown was released in 1982 and summarizes the bands move from punk to post-punk, the song, along with their 1891 album 'La Folie' showed how the Stranglers had changed with the times and would survive the music industry fast moving style without losing their initial punk credentials.
