Rival Sons, Rock City Main Hall

Rival Sons are an American blues-rock band hailing from Long Beach, California. The band was formed in 2008, after founding members Scott Holiday, Robin Everhart, and Mike Miley recruited singer-songwriter Jay Buchanan. Everhart has since been replaced by bassist Dave Beste.

Part of their local scene, each of its members had been musically active prior to the formation of Rival Sons - though their frontman Buchanan had never been a performer of rock music! Still, it proved to work and the band were named Huffington Post’s ‘Rock Band to Watch’ in November 2009.

Along with their music, gigs alongside the likes of AC/DC and Alice Cooper helped Rival Sons earn the attention of Earache Records, who signed them up and have remained as their home ever since, through two studio albums, including their popular latest effort ‘Head Down’.

In summer 2014, Rivals Sons returned with their third LP 'Great Western Valkyrie', appearances at Download Festival and Isle of Wight, and a short accompanying tour of the UK in June, while they also returned to our shores for more dates in December.

Despite all their busy touring in 2014, Rival Sons are not giving it a rest in 2015, and are back AGAIN in spring 2015, when they play six more dates across the UK. If you're a fan of the band, you can get your gig tickets for Rock City now!!!
