His major breakthrough came in 2010, when he released his second album, Won't Go Quietly which spawned the singles "Watch the Sun Come Up", "Won't Go Quietly", "Last Ones Standing" and "Kickstarts" - all of which peaked within the top 40 in the United Kingdom, the latter peaking at number 3.

Gleave has also collaborated with artists such as Professor Green, Giggs, Don Diablo, Tinchy Stryder, Skream and Wretch 32.

He is also known for performing the Nando's Skank with Ed Sheeran on his tour which has acheived over 1 million views on Youtube.

Example's third album Playing In The Shadows is due out September 2011. The lead single, "Changed the Way You Kiss Me" was released on 5 June.
