Our City launches on Friday 4th December with a local line up that showcases the breadth of talent that Nottingham has to offer and highlights a year of incredible successes for Nottingham artists in the wider national and international music industry.

Our City organiser and DHP promoter Daniel Ealam states: It’s rare we get the chance to take stock and see how far we have come as a scene. I hope we can give everyone that opportunity at Our City, and where better to celebrate the achievements of Nottingham musicians and support staff than at Rock City as part of their 35th birthday celebrations.

Headlining the event is singer-songwriter Saint Raymond. After signing to Asylum Records Saint Raymond has been making waves on the UK touring circuit, headlining academy sized venues, playing arena dates with Ed Sheeran and appearing on numerous festival bills (including a headline slot at Nottingham’s Dot To Dot Festival this year). With his debut album Young Blood entering the Top 10 in the UK Album Charts, Saint Raymond looks to be one of Nottingham music’s biggest success stories to date.

The heavyweight line-up also includes scene favourites D.I.D and Indiana who have both achieved big shows at Rock City in their own right. Five-piece guitar band D.I.D (formerly known as Dog Is Dead) formed in West Bridgford 8 years ago and will play their first hometown show since the release of new material from their forthcoming album 2 – the new EP ‘Fast Food’.

Indiana specialises in inventive, thought-provoking pop music that has seen her release top 20 album No Romeo (Sony Music) to critical acclaim this year which includes the Notts mega hit Solo Dancing and follows on from festival appearances at all the UK’s major festivals.

On the heavier end of the spectrum Kagoule have stormed onto the music scene with their debut album Urth, which was released through Nottingham’s pioneering metal label Earache Records. The album is a masterclass in riff-laden hooks and loud/quiet melodies, reminiscent of Smashing Pumpkins and The Pixies. The band are currently on tour in the USA, proving Notts music has worldwide appeal.

Also on the bill is singer-songwriter Georgie who recently signed to Columbia Records and newcomers Eyre Llew, a three-piece who have become the talking point of Nottingham after stunning live performances at various local festivals.

With more bands to be announced, Our City, is set to become a staple in the Nottingham music calendar. The evening will also allow us to acknowledge the contributions of the people behind the scene, for example BBC Nottingham’s Dean Jackson’s The Beat, which celebrates its 25th Birthday this year, and NUSIC. Both huge campaigners for the local scene.
