Potter Payper, born in 1991 to an Irish mother and Algerian father, has long been a vivid voice in UK rap, renowned for his starkly honest lyricism and deeply personal storytelling. Raised by his grandmother, Nanny Lucy, on the Gascoigne estate in Barking, his upbringing in a multicultural but challenging environment profoundly influenced his music. Struggling with his identity in a community grappling with racism and nationalism, Potter found solace and expression through language and music.

Over a decade in the making, Potter’s debut album, ‘REAL BACK IN STYLE,’ is a culmination of his life’s experiences, which was released in May 2023, selling just over 10,000 copies in the first week. The 15-track project, featuring singles like ‘Corner Boy’, ‘Multifaceted’, and ‘Blame Brexit’, is a testament to his dedication and resilience. It’s a record that showcases his evolution as an artist, offering a candid glimpse into his life’s journey, marked by sacrifice, loss, and ultimately, redemption.
Celebrating ten years since his influential mixtape ‘Training Day’, Potter’s career trajectory has been nothing short of remarkable. From his powerful freestyles to his chart-topping mixtape ‘Training Day 3’ and the critically acclaimed ‘Thanks For Waiting’, he has consistently raised the bar in UK rap. His track ‘Gangsteritus’ found its way into the Netflix series ‘Top Boy’ and peaked at number 12 in the UK charts, marking another milestone in his career.
